How to unlock and catch Mewtwo in PokeBonk

Complete Mewtwo's League challenge—own 60 League members, capture Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, and win Rocky Desert on Hard—then start a solo Classic run. Mewtwo can challenge you in zone 2 or 3, once per run; defeat it, approach the weakened Mewtwo and press E or your configured Interact key to catch it.

Step 1

Complete all four League requirements

Open Mewtwo's locked League entry and use the current challenge text as the checklist. The v0.8.62 data requires 60 League members, all three legendary birds captured, and a Hard win in Rocky Desert.

  • Have 60 League members.
  • Capture Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.
  • Win Rocky Desert on Hard.
Step 2

Start the correct kind of run

The special catch encounter is scheduled only in a solo Classic run, in zone 2 or 3. It does not use Co-op, Survival or Lavender Tower. The client schedules the attempt roughly 70–150 seconds after entering an eligible zone and can delay it while a boss, event, final swarm, capture or cleared-stage transition is active.

  • Use solo Classic.
  • Reach zone 2 or 3.
  • Keep playing if another encounter temporarily delays the challenge.
Step 3

Defeat Mewtwo, then interact to catch it

Winning the fight leaves Mewtwo in a weakened capturable state. Move within interaction range and press E, or the key currently assigned to Interact. Do not leave immediately after the health bar ends.

  • Check Settings → Keys if E does nothing.
  • Finish other active prompts that may block interaction.
  • The encounter is limited to one attempt per run.
Step 4

Do not confuse the Survival milestone

Survival has a separate Mewtwo fight at minute 45 and an achievement for defeating it. That milestone is not the documented League capture route. Use the solo Classic encounter when your goal is to add Mewtwo as a partner.

Step 5

Troubleshoot a missing encounter

Reopen the League card and confirm every challenge condition in the current version. Then verify the run is solo Classic and that you reached zone 2 or 3. If another boss or event is active, continue until the scheduler can safely start the encounter.

  • Wrong mode: leave Survival, Co-op or Tower and start solo Classic.
  • Challenge incomplete: check 60 members, three birds and Rocky Desert Hard separately.
  • No interaction: approach the weakened form and use the live Interact binding.
